Wednesdays = Fasting & Prayer!

We’re calling on everyone to fast the world and feast on God’s radical love every Wednesday! Let’s press in for our FCS Club, schools, families, and friends. The world is loud, full of distractions, and packed with things trying to pull us away from God. But just like Jesus taught in Matthew 17, some breakthroughs only come through prayer and fasting. We’re setting aside one day a week to seek real change—because faith moves mountains!

What’s "Fasting from the World" Mean?

In Matthew 17, the disciples struggled to cast out a demon, and Jesus told them it was because of their unbelief. He explained that faith, even as small as a mustard seed, could move mountains—but some things only change through prayer and fasting.

Fasting from the world isn’t about punishing ourselves—it’s about removing distractions so we can hear God more clearly and grow in faith. That might mean:

  • Less scrolling – Social media and Netflix won’t build your faith.

  • Less drama – Avoid negativity and toxic conversations.

  • Less junk – Cut back on things that drain your energy and focus.

  • Less noise – Step away from stress, pressure, and the world’s lies.

It’s not about rules—it’s about making room for something better. Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

What’s "Feasting on God" Mean?

Fasting isn’t about self-denial just for the sake of it—it’s about replacing distractions with faith in God's love and goodness. In Matthew 17, Jesus wasn't just calling His disciples to fast; He was teaching them to trust in God’s power over every obstacle.

Instead of just giving things up, we fill up on God’s truth:

  • Pray up – Talk to God about your school, your people, and your life.

  • Get in the Word – Let the Bible reshape how you think and move.

  • Worship – Put on some worship music and soak in His presence.

  • Encourage somebody – Speak life into a friend, classmate, or even a teacher.

  • Make moves for Jesus – Show love, serve, and represent Christ in all you do.

Jesus taught that when we truly believe in God's power, nothing is impossible. But unbelief—fed by worldly distractions—keeps us from walking in that faith. Fasting isn’t about hurting ourselves for a breakthrough—it’s about shifting our minds to trust God fully.

Matthew 17:20 reminds us: "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Are you ready to see mountains move in your school, your family, and your generation? Join us every Wednesday as we fast and pray for revival. Let’s grow in faith, destroy unbelief, and chase after Jesus together!

Blessings in Christ,

-FCS Club
