Happy Easter! He is Risen!
Happy Resurrection Sunday from your Crossroads family!
In this Resurrection of Christ season, God is shouting, HOW MUCH HE LOVES YOU! We encourage you to set aside some alone time with God and ask Him to give you a fresh revelation of the Cross, the price Jesus paid, and His amazing love for you.
Dutch Sheets' recent blog posts share profound insights about the sufferings of Christ that can be used as reference points during your quiet time with the Lord.
Here is a quote from April 7th's Give Him 15:
"Christ had taken our sins upon Himself (2 Corinthians 5:21; Isaiah 53.5). Most scholars agree that when this occurred, He bore our separation from the Father, who could no longer look upon Him. Though Jesus no doubt knew this would occur, the actual experience was more than He could endure, and cried out in anguish. It is worth noting that Christ never cried out during the beatings, scourging, thorns, spikes, or dislocations - only when this separation occurred from His Father, as He bore our sin."
As Christ took the sins of humanity upon Himself, He, for the first time in His life, felt separated from God. This was more agonizing to Him than anything else that He suffered because He lived a life completely dependent upon God (John 5:19). Christ's momentary separation restored our connection with the Father (Matt. 27:51) and now we have the amazing privilege of communing with God every day! As we follow in our Savior's footsteps, may we live in unbroken fellowship with our Father!
Questions to ponder:
Am I living a life completely dependent on God in view of HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU?
Does my heart hurt and long for the Father when I feel disconnected from Him?
How can I remain in constant fellowship with God throughout my day?
Love in Christ,
