The Young Man With Gender Identity Issues and Depression/Suicidal Thoughts Came Back to the Atlanta Club!
Thank you for your powerful intercession! God is doing amazing things in Atlanta and Montgomery! Lives are truly changing!
The young man with gender confusion and depression/suicidal issues came back to the club after missing several weeks! We so appreciate your prayers for him! He really seems to be doing well and growing in his faith. Another student who has been struggling with depression and wanting to commit suicide seems to be living for Christ now! His countenance has even changed. It’s so encouraging to see how God’s powerful Gospel is transforming the hearts of these inner city students. It's also very important for students to make Godly connections. They are able to fellowship with each other and build Christ-centered relationships during small groups (See pic). Our kids are in tremendous mental, emotional, and spiritual battles that can only be won through a deep relationship with Jesus and Christian community.
Let’s lift up another young man in prayer who is about to leave his foster mom and return home to his biological mother. Unfortunately, it does not seem like his mom is in a stable place right now, and we desperately want this young man to live in a healthy environment. He has been growing in his walk with God and improving his grades. We want don’t want him to go backwards. Ultimately, our desire is for every student to have an encounter with the Father’s love where their hearts cry, “Abba Father!” (Romans 8:15). We want them to know they have a Heavenly Father who loves them more than any earthly parent!
Here are some prayer points for the week:
Atlanta Leadership Team Meeting (TONIGHT-Monday, April 24th): The Atlanta leadership team meets from 7:00-7:30 p.m. EST to discuss Thursday’s club meeting. We have been on the topic of what it means to be truly 'born again' and will be introducing the topic of what it means to be delivered from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's Son (Colossians 1:13). We want the kids to understand that we do have an enemy, and we are going to reveal to them the subtle ways he tries to pull believers away from God.
